Rocambolesco
In Rocambolesco I use sequential photography to capture a memory, a moment in time. More specifically a sultry summer afternoon on my honeymoon in Italy. A girl jumps from a rock, hanging in the air, while men are gazing… The book lingers around this moment stretched in time. Seconds seems like hours. By cutting the photographs in fragments and using the transition of these fragments as a timeline, it plays with the aspect to aspect transitions of manga. Trying to emphazise the viewer to be ‘in’ the moment.
