My Toyota is fantastic

In 1998 I bought my first car, a Toyota Corolla, and drove it for 21 years. Over the years I began to realise the important role it had played in my life. At first glance my car was just an extra, but in fact it was a main character.
To pay tribute to my car I made a reconstruction of its life using photos I found in my archive, supplemented with new images. Further, I wrote down the life of my car chronologically, like in a diary. Fragments of this biography form an important part of the book.
Additionally I wanted to know the history of my car before I bought it, thus leading me to Japan. My biggest question was if any elements of the fascinating Japanese culture had found its way into my car. This search for the Japanese roots of my car is also included in the book.

‘Here it ends
your story is told
worried of having to let you go
guardian of old memories fading
Take care and
safe yourney’
